Pastoral Support

Do you need some support? Practically, spiritually, emotionally or are you in need of prayer?

When we are in difficulties, it is often necessary and helpful if another person is present to help us to grow and to support us. Christians are not exempt from continuing hurts and wounds and these must be met if we are to grow into holiness.

Jesus gave us a commandment to love each other. This is what the pastoral team will be doing, loving each one through practical, spiritual, emotional and prayer support. In John 13 verse 34 Jesus says ‘A new commandment I give you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another”

As a team our aims are:

  1. To show the love of Jesus to everybody that needs it. To support each person to have a closer personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  2. To support people to flourish in their own lives. To be free to live out their own calling that God has for their lives and to become true disciples of Jesus Christ.
  1. To draw alongside those who struggle; to strengthen, encourage and restore spiritual growth and independence in their lives.
  2. To create an environment of acceptance and compassion where individuals take responsibility for their own actions. We will treat them with respect, honour and grace.
  3. To listen, support, encourage and befriend people within GUV that are struggling.
