This week we are focusing our prayers on #breakthrough within the GUV. There have already been many people visiting the church and God is already speaking to a number of us.

The vast majority of people who are Christians, first make that decision to follow Jesus before they turn 18 years old.

This is why we place so much importance on our children's and youth ministries.

Three years ago, we had a handful of kids and young people. But as a leadership team we decided we wanted to invest into where we wanted to be, rather than where we were - and we appointed Dale as our Children's and Youth Pastor.

Last Sunday we had around 70 children and young people with us at the service.

We are now at a stage where we need again to invest into where we want to be. We want our children's ministry to grow, we want to impact our kids from a young age teaching them the values of the Bible and introducing them to a living faith in Jesus Christ.

We want our young people to be equipped to live out their faith with extravagant generosity, selfless devotion, and courage to walk this journey Jesus calls us to.

Our children and our young people will be our legacy and we feel it is imperative that we invest now in order to see them thrive.

As we mentioned earlier in the year, we would like Dale to move to a new position as Youth and Young Adults Pastor and to employ someone to become our Children's Pastor.

We would love to do this in September, but it means we need to invest.

In order to do this, it will cost the church an additional £1,000 per month. That is money that we don't have at the moment.

But this is the year of #breakthrough. And this week as we pray for #breakthrough in the GUV, we would ask that, as well as praying for the various areas of church life, that we pray for God's provision in this area.

We would also ask you to act. If you believe, like we do that it is vital we invest into our children and young people, then we would ask you to consider your giving to the church.

£1,000 per month could feel like a big figure.

But it means 100 people giving £10 per month or adding £10 per month to what they already give OR it means 10 people giving £100 per month or adding £10 per month to what they already give.

With God all things are possible. He is the Great Provider, and if it is his will then we know the money will come.

As you pray today for #breakthrough please consider what your investment might be as we champion, support and release our children and young people to be the people God has called them to be.

While praying for the children last night I felt drawn to one of the girls in the picture. Consequently I prayed specifically for her (sorry don't know her name). One of the things we did at our last church which you may wish to consider was to ask church members to regularly pray for a specific child. This doesn't need to be in great detail - just blessing them would be good. It just means that there is someone other than their parents standing with them before God as they grow up.

Thanks Gill, really appreciate the suggestion!

chatting to the guy who let us out tonight (sorry, didn't get his name!) re youth. Have you considered splitting the ages on Fridays? I just think that older teens may be put off coming because of younger kids. We used to run a yr 7-9 group which then fed into the older youth group. Also, have you ever done a youth alpha?
